Lecture Focus- Forensic Behavioral Investigations (psy ops) and on Investigative Field Operations (field ops).

Target Audience- Human Resources Professionals, Social Workers, Private Investigators,
Criminal Defense Attorneys, Police Officers, Probation and Parole Officers, Family
Independence Agency Professionals, Criminal Justice College Students, Lay People, Other
Professionals who Investigate or Interview People.

Teaching Methodologies- Lecture, discussion; case studies, investigative theory and
examples; critiques, guest speakers, overheads, video-tapes, photographs, humor.

Course Objectives- The purpose of this course is to give students practical and theoretical
knowledge about Investigative Forensic Operations and Methods. Upon completion of this
course/seminar the student will have:

1) Knowledge of legal and ethical issues that impact the investigative process.
2) Knowledge of client's rights regarding confidentiality and duty to warn and protect.
3) Examined rudimentary and advanced investigational field operations.
4) Explored beginning and advanced psychological investigation methodology.
5) Reviewed forensic interviewing protocols.
6) Examination of the consultation process and professionalism.
7) Examination of previous and current legal cases wherein children and adults are witnesses.
8) Examination of case intake, factorial study and chronological continuum; investigative
theory continuum, the investigative continuum. (Mitchell)

Seminar Description-The seminar is designed for professionals or persons who have an interest in Forensic Behavioral Science and who are interested in learning Forensic Behavioral Investigational Methods. The primary teaching focus is Forensic Behavioral Investigational methods with emphasis on investigational field and psychological operations. The primary teaching focus is to apply forensic behavioral methods to field and psychological operations. The seminar is designed to teach investigators how to utilize psychological measures to evaluate their investigative progress.

Lecture 2- Equipment used by investigators and why; Video-tape.

Lecture 3- Investigational Methods of Field Operations, "Tools Of The Trade"; "Intelligence Gathering - Reading Your Case", investigative Gestalt Theory.

Lecture 4-"The Investigators Scientific Investigative Method"; "Tools Of The Trade" used in combination with "The Investigators Scientific Method"; Investigative Gestalt Theory.

Lecture 4a- Case Intake, Investigative Gestalt Theory; Case Factorial Chronological Continuum, Investigational Continuum (Investigative Progress) including (Investigative Theory Continuum).
